Shot woman's destiny to die, not thieving MP's destiny to get fired

PRETORIA. Two days after ANC MP Angie Molebatsi told the grieving family of a woman gunned down by police that it had been her destiny to die, the ANC has confirmed that it is Molebatsi's destiny to continue serving as an MP despite her previous conviction for theft in the Travelgate scandal and her recent nauseating statements.

Molebatsi, who pleaded guilty to theft in 2006, stunned the nation on the weekend when she hijacked the funeral of Olga Kekana, the woman murdered as part of the police's new crime fighting policy, and told mourners that "one way or another we are all going to die, regardless of whether a cop shoots you or you were ill".

Molebatsi also urged mourners not to blame the police, saying that "this was her destiny, let's not blame the police".

It is understood that the SA Medical Council has asked the ANC to check if Molebatsi is human, based on the assumption that no human being could possibly be that repulsive; but the ruling party has insisted that Molebatsi is at least physiologically human.

This morning the ANC confirmed that while it had been Kekana's destiny to be murdered by police, it was not Molebatsi's destiny to be fired.

"Comrade Molebatsi's statements were taken out of context," explained spokesman Snotklap Hlope.

When it was pointed out to him that the statements focused on Kekana being murdered by police and that the context was her funeral, Hlope asked the media to stop being racist in its coverage of nation-building.

He said that Molebatsi would not be fired because she was clearly clairvoyant and the ANC needed forward-looking people.

"It's really spooky how she seems to see people's destinies," he said.

"She knew she wouldn't be fired as an MP when she privately nationalised R25,000 from taxpayers in 2006, and she was right.

"Cynics and racists might say that's thanks to a corrupt administration in which ANC patronage has got totally out of control.

"But we know better. We know she has supernatural powers, probably gained when she befriended a magical frog during her childhood."

Molebatsi could not be reached for comment as she is completely beyond the pale and therefore out of cellphone range.
